Summary of Position Teaches survey-level History courses in World and/or US History. Emphasis on HIST 2650: "History of American Democracy" covering key documents in American economic, political, and constitutional history. Must be able to provide regular in-person instruction as assigned. Position Information Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources. Teaching assignments may be made at YSU's main location in Youngstown, Ohio, the Steubenville, Ohio location, or for remote courses. Must be able to provide regular in-person instruction as assigned. Qualifications and Competencies Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Minimum Qualifications: An earned master's degree in history; able to teach standard general education history courses (examples but not limited to: World Civilizations I and II, US History I and II); must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience, especially online and accelerated. Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work. Sedentary: work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
