Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / PsychiatristLocation: Onsite, Roxbury MACompensation: $85/hr Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Per Diem Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatrist to provide high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health care. This role supports clinical operations on an as-needed basis, delivering psychiatric evaluation, supervision to newly practicing providers, medication management, and collaborative care across diverse patient populations. The ideal candidate is flexible, clinically strong, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments while maintaining a trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approach. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and risk evaluationsDevelop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans, as appropriateProvide medication management, including prescribing, adjusting, and monitoring psychotropic medicationsManage acute and chronic mental health conditions across the adult lifespanAssess and manage crisis situations, including suicide risk and psychiatric decompensationProvide brief therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation Collaboration & Care Coordination Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including therapists, social workers, nurses, addiction medicine and primary care providersParticipate in case reviews, treatment planning meetings, and care coordination activities when appropriateCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers when appropriateEnsure smooth transitions of care and appropriate follow-up Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulatory, licensing, and organizational standardsEnsure compliance with state and federal prescribing guidelines Quality & Safety Follow evidence-based practices and clinical guidelinesParticipate in quality improvement initiatives as neededPromote a culture of safety, equity, and patient-centered care Qualifications For Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Master's or Doctoral degree in NursingBoard certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)Active, unrestricted state licensureDEA registration (and controlled substance license as applicable)Independently licensed For Psychiatrist MD or DO degree from an accredited institutionBoard certified or board eligible in PsychiatryActive, unrestricted medical licenseDEA registration Experience Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings preferredExperience in outpatient, inpatient, crisis, or community mental health settings is a plusExperience with diverse or underserved populations strongly preferred Core Competencies Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills Ability to work independently and adapt to varying clinical environmentsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCultural humility and commitment to equitable careComfort with fast-paced, high-acuity settings (if applicable) Work Schedule Per diem/as-needed basisFlexible scheduling, including potential evenings, weekends, or holiday coverageThis position is hybrid-onsite or remote telehealth Physical & Work Environment May include outpatient clinics, hospitals, telehealth, or community-based settingsAbility to sit, stand, and engage with patients for extended periodsOccasional exposure to high-stress or crisis situations
