Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with our client located in Calvert, AL. OVERVIEW:The ideal candidate will provide on-site Electrical Automation Engineering support through technical leadership and continuous optimization of process improvement projects within the highly automated Hot Dip Galvanizing and Annealing Lines of the company.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide technical leadership and support in the following responsibilities:Continuous improvement projects to increase reliability, quality, and efficiency of the production process focusing on automatic control systems and associated field devicesRoot cause failure analysisPlanning improvement activities utilizing SAP softwareTrain, coach, and mentor maintenance technicians and operations team membersAssist in troubleshooting equipmentEnsure projects in area of responsibility are vetted out as well implemented per agreementsDemonstrates the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and SustainabilityFulfills the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environmentFulfills the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality CommitmentDemonstrate commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respectPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Electricity or related field or 5 years equivalent field experience as supplement2 years' minimum direct experience in electrical automation in manufacturing, commissioning or service for electrical automation systems, preferred in steel or similar heavy industryProficient with:Motor Control utilizing Danfoss/Siemens Variable Frequency Drives, including regulation via PLC systemsIndustrial communication systems, such as LAN systems, Profibus, Profinet, CanbusContinuous optimization of process equipment systems utilizing process data acquisition systems, such as iba AnalyzerFamiliar with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)Intermediate experience with industrial instrumentation and Human Machine Interface SystemsIntermediate experience with industrial process automation systems, with focus on Programmable Logic ControllersFamiliar with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), such as GE P80i, Siemens S7, Siemens TIA Portal, logi.CADWorking knowledge of Industrial Safety Systems preferredBasic understanding of industrial communication protocols (network, Profibus, profinet)OTHER SKILLS/TRAITS:Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to develop technical presentations and competently communicate interpersonally and technical papersCompetency in handling fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, and prioritizing proficiencyDemonstrates high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentialityWe thank all applicants for their interest.
