APPLY NOW PROMOTIONAL POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT OPEN TO NON-PROBATIONARY COUNTY EMPLOYEES ONLY* JOB OVERVIEW: The purpose of this position is to provide secretarial and clerical support to Administrative Services, assists the Captain with the hiring process and other personnel actions requiring clerical support, maintain the POST program and lead worker status to ensure the department's personnel records, including POST certification, Reserves, interns, Internal Affairs, Use of Force reports, and active and terminated employees are properly maintained. This position acts under the supervision of Lieutenant-Management Services/Professional Standards. Prepares a variety of correspondence, documents, reports, forms, and lists from rough drafts, which may be of a sensitive and confidential nature. Composes memos and correspondence as directed. Develops forms, templates, and layouts using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe graphic software. Prepares requisitions. Contact job applicants. Schedules and coordinates interview boards. Performs reference checks on civilian applicants. Coordinates paperwork and processing of new hires and Reserve officers. May participate in the interview process for certain civilian positions. Conducts introductory department orientations for new hires. Revises employee security codes as needed. Assists with special projects. Researches policy and procedures, state statutes, and resource materials for the Captain. Organizes data and assists with developing procedures or policy revisions. Coordinates law enforcement internships, including selection, processing, and scheduling. Liaisons with the college intern representative. Assists with confidential personnel actions to ensure that paperwork is processed, signed, copied, collated, and distributed. Provides administrative support to the Disciplinary Review Board; types notices, Board recommendations, schedules participants, and collates materials for the Board. Maintains confidential and sensitive files, including Internal Affairs and Use of Force. Estimates personnel section expenses for budget projections and tracks annual personnel expenses. Performs lead worker tasks to ensure reception duties are provided, and various personnel records are maintained. Assists with tasks as necessary. Uses LOTUS to compile data such as vehicle changes, Position Control, personnel actions, and maintain the organizational chart. Assists auditors biannually. Processes payroll when the Account Clerk II is unavailable. Copies and files personnel records. Answers and directs incoming telephone calls. Delivers documents as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Education High school diploma or GED equivalent. Job Experience 5 years of progressively responsible clerical experience. Knowledge, skills, and abilities Clerical training. Record keeping and computer software utilization. Employment is contingent on successfully passing a full criminal background check.
