Medical AssistantAmerican Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest providers of primary and urgent care services in the U.S., offering care seven days a week on a walk-in basis. Our modern medical centers specialize in the treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation cases, and occupational health services. Each location is equipped with an on-site laboratory and in-house X-ray capabilities. This position is with an independently owned and operated AFC franchise location. Job duties and benefits may vary by franchise.The Medical Assistant provides general clinical support under the supervision of a licensed provider in a fast-paced outpatient clinic setting.Record patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit; prepare patients for physical examsExplain procedures and treatment plans to patients clearly and professionallyEnsure all diagnostic tests are performed accurately and promptlyAdminister medications and treatments as directed, following approved clinical protocolsPerform venipuncture and prepare laboratory samples for in-house or reference lab processingConduct routine lab testing, maintain quality controls, and ensure proper equipment upkeepRespond to lab messages and return patient calls in a timely mannerAdminister drug screening tests in compliance with applicable regulationsDocument and administer immunizations according to guidelinesCoordinate physician referrals and service pre-authorizations when necessaryPrepare and sanitize exam rooms; sterilize instruments and medical suppliesMaintain accurate and complete patient recordsPerform additional duties as assignedAssociate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 612 months of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceCertification preferred: AMT Registered or AAMA Certified Medical AssistantCompensation: $16.00 - $20.00 per hourAmerican Family Care has pioneered the concept of convenient, patient-centric healthcare.
