Seeking an energetic HR Generalist to join the next generation of cool for a growing manufacturer in Kenosha, Wi! We are expanding and this role will help support our Somers, WI location and our Kenosha, Wi location. Job Summary: The Human Resource Generalist will play an integral role in all the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including, hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices, and corporate initiatives. The HR Generalist receives specific direction from the Vice President of HR, helps to develop HR work plans on both a short- and long-term basis, and resolves most problems with Department Managers, Supervisors and leads. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Experience with both Exempt and non-exempt positions within manufacturing settings. Work closely with temporary agencies (production roles) to source temporary support for projects and staff shortages Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications. Conducts and updates new hire orientations which include company policy, culture, benefits, and safety. Collaborates with management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, and sexual harassment. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, wellness and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; environmental and training and development. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Provides training and support to other team members of the human resources department Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Is well-versed in-laws and regulations regarding hiring and firing Implement and administer employee policies and promote positive employee relations Managers employee recognition programs and events throughout the year. Manage and monitor performance-related issues and implement changes that could increase productivity Utilizes the company’s programs to help sustain and build upon a culture that fosters inclusion, open-door policy, high associate engagement, and talent development focus. Conducts wage surveys within the labor market to determine competitive wage rate. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Utilizes the HRIS and ERP systems with utmooust dilgilence to ensure accurate entries. Ensures that Company policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance with legal requirements Ensures that all employee files are maintained according to State and Federal regulations. Coordinates review process with HR team, Department Managers and Shop Floor Supervisors and Leads. Serves as a back up for payroll for the company. Executes and maintains requirements for a drug-free workplace. Collaborates with the HR team to implement employee functions such as lunches, holiday parties and recognition events. Ensures that all assigned areas and equipment are properly maintained and utilized efficiently. Ensures that all work is performed in a safe manner and in accordance with and adheres to IEA’s ISO and Quality standards. Maintains and processes unemployment claims in a timely, efficient manner and attends unemployment hearings when necessary. Contributes to the Company’s process improvement efforts and supports IEA’s Six Sigma efforts. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties. Personal protective equipment requirement: Safety glasses with side-shields when in shop areas. Safety toe shoes when in shop areas. Ability to plan, organize and direct multiple work activities simultaneously. Ability to make oral and visual training presentations using PowerPoint. Knowledge of occupational hazards and the ability to follow safe work practices. Bilingual skills: English and Spanish preferred. Knowledge of federal and state regulations that govern benefit plans and leave management to include ERISA, AAP, ACA, IRS, FMLA, and ADAAA Positive attitude focused on achieving organizational successes, not individual ‘wins’ Ability to interact and communicate with all levels within the organization Experiential: Human Resource experience in Manufacturing required. Educational: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. At least three years of progressive human resource experience is preferred. SHRM-CP or PHR preferred. Experience with HRIS systems, Payroll Systems and ERP. Certificates, Licenses, etc.: Driver’s License Required.
