Security Developer III (Contract)Job Type: 31 Week Contract, Potential for Extension or ConversionLocation: Philadelphia, PA Pay: Available on W2OverviewAn innovative cybersecurity team is seeking a Security Developer III to design, build, and enhance secure applications and platforms at scale. This role focuses on developing robust security solutions that protect systems, data, and users while driving continuous improvement across modern technology environments.This position requires a highly adaptable developer with strong engineering fundamentals, experience working with distributed systems, and a passion for secure software development. The ideal candidate is both hands-on and collaborative, with the ability to mentor peers and contribute to evolving security practices.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement secure software components for enterprise products and systemsBuild, optimize, and maintain reusable, secure code and libraries as a subject matter expertIdentify security gaps and enhance existing platforms to strengthen application and system securityEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to expand and improve platform capabilitiesParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deploymentSupport DevOps processes by contributing to build automation, deployment pipelines, and operational efficiencyPerform troubleshooting and operational support for applications and security componentsConduct code reviews and perform static code analysis to ensure quality, performance, and security standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutionsMentor and support junior team members, promoting best practices in secure developmentRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)Proven experience in software development, including design, architecture, and production supportStrong understanding of secure coding practices and application security principlesExperience working with applications that rely on multiple web services and operate at scaleProficiency in one or more high-level programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, Go, or similar)Familiarity with open-source frameworks and modern development tools•Technical & Functional SkillsExperience with DevOps tools for automating build, deployment, and release processesKnowledge of test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and Agile methodologiesHands-on experience with testing tools and quality assurance practicesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex environmentsAbility to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing business requirements Core CompetenciesStrong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teamsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with a focus on building secure, scalable solutionsProactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvementPassion for cybersecurity and secure application developmentWhat You’ll BringA strong foundation in software engineering with a focus on security and scalabilityExperience contributing to high-impact, enterprise-level systemsA collaborative approach to problem-solving and innovationInterest in staying current with emerging technologies and security trendsTechnology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
