Risk Manager

Jamail & Smith Construction is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to lead and strengthen our company’s risk, insurance, and safety programs across all operations.This is a high-impact role responsible for protecting the company’s financial and operational integrity—overseeing everything from insurance and bonding to subcontractor risk and safety compliance. You’ll work closely with project teams, executives, and external partners to proactively identify and mitigate risk while ensuring our projects run smoothly and safely.What You’ll DoLead all aspects of risk management, including insurance, claims, bonding, and contract reviewManage subcontractor risk, including insurance compliance, prequalification, and contract negotiationsOversee claims and legal matters, working with attorneys and tracking associated costsAdminister bonding processes, reporting, and forecastingReview customer contracts, insurance requirements, and bid documentsEnsure compliance with OSHA, construction law, and industry regulationsPartner with operations teams to resolve risk-related issues and keep projects moving forwardOversee and enhance company-wide safety programs, including incident investigations and performance trackingProvide reporting and insights to executive leadership on risk and safety metricsWhat You Bring5+ years of experience in risk management, construction, insurance, or a related fieldStrong knowledge of construction contracts, insurance policies, and bonding requirementsExperience managing claims, subcontractor compliance, and safety programsAbility to analyze risk and make sound, independent decisionsExcellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organizationHighly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-throughPreferred:Bachelor’s degree in construction, business, finance, law, or related fieldProfessional certifications such as PRMWhy Jamail & Smith?At Jamail & Smith, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality commercial construction projects while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, integrity, and operational excellence.
