Job PurposeThe Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer (CIO) will provide strategic direction and leadership for the organization’s technology vision and IT operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of information technology strategies that align with business objectives, drive innovation, and ensure robust, scalable technology infrastructure across the enterprise. The CIO will partner with executive leadership to develop technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency, support business growth, and ensure data security and compliance.Job ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership:Develop and execute the IT strategy aligned with overall business goals, driving innovation and ensuring the scalability and reliability of technology systems.Technology InfrastructureLead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications systems.Digital TransformationDrive digital transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies to improve processes, customer experience, and competitive positioning.Cybersecurity & Data PrivacyEnsure the security and integrity of data, information systems, and applications, establishing best practices and compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g. , GDPR, CCPA).Budget & Resource ManagementOversee the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, cost control, and return on investment in technology initiatives.Team LeadershipAdditional Responsibilities & Qualifications:Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while managing recruitment, retention, and development.Vendor & Partner ManagementManage relationships with external vendors and technology partners, ensuring effective contract negotiations and delivery of quality services.Risk ManagementIdentify potential technology risks and establish measures to mitigate them, ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested.Executive CollaborationCollaborate with C-suite executives and business leaders to align IT strategy with business objectives and provide technology solutions that drive growth and innovation.Work Experience10-15 years of related experience of successful supervisory/management experience required to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent.10-15 years of related job experience.Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.Ability to work quickly and efficiently.Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.Experienced in providing leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes, and challenges.Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long time frames.Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.Experience using Microsoft SQL, SSAS, Power Pivot, Power Query or Power BI is preferred.Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM is preferred.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).Strong planning and organization skills are required.Understanding or Knowledge of Cloud and DevOps concepts.EducationBachelor's DegreeWhat We OfferEngaging and inclusive culture with employee-led Employee Resource Groups, Veritiv Cultural Alliance, recognition platform, etc.Extensive training opportunities, professional development programs, career pathing, and mentorship opportunities.Collaborative atmosphere with our customers and suppliers to create healthier, safer and more sustainable communities through our responsible operations and innovative solutions.Healthcare benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and health savings account), life, AD&D, and disability insurance, 401k, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance program, and other fringe benefits.About VeritivTogether with its subsidiaries, Veritiv is the leading full-service provider of packaging solutions.
