Full Time Baker - The Fearrington House The Fearrington House Restaurant, a Relais & Châteaux property renowned for its refined Southern hospitality and exceptional cuisine, is seeking a talented and dedicated Baker to join our culinary team. The Baker is responsible for producing high-quality breads and pastries that reflect the standards of a world-class kitchen. This role requires strong technical skill, consistency, and a passion for traditional baking and laminated doughs. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and bake a variety of artisan breads, including sourdoughs, yeasted breads, and specialty loaves Execute laminated doughs for pastries such as croissants, pain au chocolat, danish, and seasonal viennoiserie Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all baked goods Follow established recipes while contributing creativity and seasonal ideas when appropriate Manage fermentation, proofing, and baking schedules with precision Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment Collaborate closely with the pastry and culinary teams to support restaurant and special event needs Qualifications: Proven experience as a professional baker, preferably in a fine dining or high volume environment Strong knowledge of bread baking techniques and laminated dough production Understanding of fermentation, dough handling, and temperature control Ability to work early mornings and weekends as required Attention to detail, organization, and a commitment to excellence Culinary education preferred but not required with equivalent experience We're looking for someone who is: Committed to quality service Available, especially weekends and holidays Has a positive attitude – great work ethic
