Senior Data Engineer - Google Cloud

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and architectures that enable advanced analytics, business intelligence, and AI/ML initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data engineering, cloud-native architectures, and distributed data processing.Key ResponsibilitiesData Architecture & PipelinesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on GCP.Build real-time and batch data ingestion processes using Cloud Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery.Implement best practices for data modeling, data partitioning, and query optimization in BigQuery.Cloud & InfrastructureWork with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Dataflow, and Looker.Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of data solutions.Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).Data Governance & QualityEstablish data quality frameworks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.Implement data security, compliance, and governance policies across pipelines.Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate, clean, and trustworthy data.Collaboration & LeadershipPartner with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to deliver data-driven solutions.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical best practices.Lead data engineering projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering to production deployment.Skills & Experience:Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.Experience: 10+ years in data engineering roles, with at least 5+ years on Google Cloud Platform.Technical Expertise:Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, and/or Java/Scala.Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer.Proficiency in data modeling, data warehousing, and distributed systems.Experience with CI/CD, Git, Docker, Kubernetes (nice to have).Other Skills:Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to lead complex data projects and collaborate across multi-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications:Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer Certification.Experience with streaming frameworks (Apache Beam, Spark, Kafka).Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and integration with Vertex AI.Prior experience in large-scale enterprise data environments.
