PRINCIPAL - SECONDARY (12 MONTHS) SCHOOL YEAR 2026-2027 Location: Giles High School Giles County Public Schools is now accepting applications for highly qualified candidates for Giles High School Principal position beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership for the instructional program while overseeing the planning, administration, and daily operations of the school. Responsibilities include instructional leadership, student discipline, staff supervision, budget management, and the coordination of programs designed to support student achievement and school success. DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL SKILLS:Engages in a collaborative leadership style that creates an appropriate learning and teaching environment for all students and staff.Displays a record of success in establishing and maintaining high standards of student conduct.Communicates effectively with stakeholders through outstanding written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrates successful experience in planning and implementing instructional initiatives.Possesses knowledge and experience with state and federal requirements including the Virginia Standards of Learning and demonstrates an understanding of the importance of school accountability and ability to work with parents and staff as a team to achieve high standards.Fosters positive relationships and works effectively with parents and families.Ability to maintain a high degree of positive professionalism in all actions and interactions.Demonstrates expertise in using technology in education and administration. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degreeVerification showing completion of an approved program in administration and supervision and/or required coursework from an accredited institutionHold or immediately be eligible for a Virginia Department of Education license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision: PreK-12Three years of successful experience as a teacherExperience in implementing educational programs PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience as a high school teacher and/or administrator.
