Lead Installation Technician

*Technician – Event & Christmas Light Installation* *About the Role* We are seeking *Technicians (Junior and Lead)* to support and guide on-site installations for *Christmas and holiday lighting, event lighting, draping, weddings, corporate events, and seasonal displays*. This is a hands-on role combining technical installation work with team leadership. You will work at venues, homes, commercial properties, and other locations throughout Utah. The work includes installing and removing Christmas and holiday lighting, event lighting, draping, cables, and related equipment while ensuring each installation is completed *accurately, efficiently, safely, and to a high standard*. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is comfortable working outdoors and at heights, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can lead a crew while maintaining a positive, professional attitude. *Key Responsibilities* * Lead and assist with the installation and removal of *Christmas and holiday lighting, event lighting, draping, and seasonal displays* * Install lighting on homes, buildings, trees, structures, venues, and other properties * Provide on-site direction, training, and support to crew members * Safely operate and work from *extension, articulated/multi-position, step, and orchard-style ladders* * Load, unload, transport, and organize lighting, ladders, tools, and equipment in vans and trailers * Install and manage lighting, cables, extension cords, timers, power sources, and related equipment * Follow installation plans, lighting designs, and property layouts * Communicate professionally with crew members, internal teams, venue contacts, property owners, and clients * Identify and resolve on-site challenges as they arise * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area * Deliver a positive experience for clients and partners * Operate lifts when necessary; training provided if needed *Qualifications* * *Proven ability and comfort working on ladders at significant heights*, with at least one year of regular ladder experience * Experience with *extension ladders strongly preferred*; familiarity with articulated/multi-position, step, or orchard ladders is a plus * *Not afraid of heights* and comfortable working on roofs, trees, ladders, lifts, and other elevated locations * Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in *cold temperatures, snow, wind, and changing winter conditions* * Able to perform the physical tasks required for installation work, including climbing, lifting, carrying, standing, bending, reaching, and working on uneven or challenging terrain * Reliable transportation to our warehouse * Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends, with a rotating weekend schedule that may include Sundays * Strong teamwork and communication skills with a positive, dependable attitude * Attention to detail and ability to follow plans, layouts, and instructions * Willingness to learn new equipment, tools, and installation techniques *Preferred Qualifications* * *Christmas or holiday lighting installation experience* * 3+ years of Christmas, holiday, or outdoor lighting experience * Experience in event lighting, production, construction, landscaping, electrical work, or similar hands-on trades * Familiarity with basic hand and power tools * Previous crew leadership or lead/foreman experience * Lift certification or aerial lift experience *Pay & Training* * *Technician: $20–$30 per hour*, based on experience and skill level * 3+ years of relevant Christmas/holiday lighting experience may qualify for higher pay * Training provided on company equipment, installation techniques, and lift operation as needed * Opportunities for growth, increased responsibility, and skill development *Job Type* *Full-time* *Schedule & Working Conditions* *This is a physically demanding seasonal position with long workdays and concentrated schedules. During peak installation periods, workdays may be 12–14 hours, with approximately 35–40 hours typically worked over a 3-day period.* The work includes *early mornings, evenings, weekends, extended days, and outdoor work in cold winter weather*. Candidates must be genuinely comfortable *working at heights and on ladders—including extension and other specialized ladders—and performing physical work outdoors in cold, changing conditions*.
