Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionPosition Summary:The Commercial Mechanical Designer/ EIT (Engineer In Training) is responsible for the technical delivery of mechanical/HVAC engineering analysis and design on building and non-building projects. They will help lead a team through the design coordination, execution, procurement support, and construction administration on a variety of mechanical projects. They will also be responsible for completing calculations, reports and spreadsheets. Projects types will represent a broad cross-section of commercial, governmental, industrial, institutional, recreational facilities, residential and retail projects types.Essential functions and responsibilities:Design and analysis of mechanical systems for a variety of project types, including new construction and renovationCommunicate effectively with client, and internal project team, and other contractorsAssist in the development of project proposals, budgets, cost standards and schedulesAccurately produce project construction documents to meet milestone schedules within a predetermined hourly budgetManage a multi-project workloadResponsible for meeting mechanical engineering quality levels on assigned projectWork with other Designers, Technicians, and Sales personnel to prepare drawings, modify existing drawings, or create record drawingsPromote the reputation of the company through the technical quality of his/her workPhysical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus with or without eye correction. This position is in a typical office environment. The noise level is usually minimal.Qualifications desired:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. EIT or PE License in OR preferred.Minimum of two (2) years as a mechanical designer with increasing project management responsibilitiesExperience with and knowledge of various types of construction and design projectsExperience with design software such as but not limited to AutoCad, Revit, Chvac, Bluebeam, Navisworks, etc.Fluency with Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.Demonstrated background in plan production and project execution
