We're looking for a strong backend engineer who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves on the front end with React. This is a hands-on role on a high-visibility product team.What You'll DoDesign, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications across modern backend and front-end stacksBuild robust, scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring BootDevelop event-driven services and data pipelines using KafkaBuild reusable, performant UI components in ReactDesign and integrate RESTful APIs with PostgreSQL-backed servicesDeploy and operate services on AWS, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and reliabilityPartner with product managers and UX designers to translate requirements into technical solutionsContribute to architecture and design discussions and influence technical directionWrite clean, maintainable, well-tested code; review code and mentor junior engineersSupport production releases, troubleshooting, and on-call rotations as neededWhat We're Looking For7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focusDeep, hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot building production microservicesSolid experience with Kafka for event streaming or messagingStrong SQL skills and production experience with PostgreSQLHands-on AWS experience (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, or similar)Proficiency in React with real production front-end delivery, not just exposureExperience designing RESTful APIs and distributed systemsStrong communication skills and a collaborative, ownership-driven mindsetNice to HaveCI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience in retail, e-commerce, or other high-traffic consumer platformsDetails That MatterOnsite in downtown Seattle 4 days per week, no exceptionsW-2 full-time employment with Samay Consulting; no C2C or third-party agenciesMust be authorized to work in the US
