Design Engineer
We’re looking for a hands-on Design Engineer to take concepts from requirements through 3D modeling, prototyping, testing, and release to production. You’ll partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs. We welcome new graduates (0+ years) and experienced engineers; title/level will be matched to experience.
What You’ll Do
Own designs end-to-end: translate requirements into specifications, 3D models, drawings, and BOMs; manage revisions through release.
Model & detail: create parts/assemblies in a modern CAD tool (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, Inventor) with proper GD&T and tolerance stacks.
Design for manufacturability: apply DFM/DFA principles; collaborate with suppliers on processes, materials, and cost.
Risk & reliability: run design FMEA, address safety-by-design considerations, and drive corrective/preventive actions (RCCA/CAPA).
Problem-solve on the floor: support builds and launches; lead root-cause analysis using structured methods (5-Why, fishbone, DOE).
Documentation & change control: create and maintain specs, test plans, and ECNs within our PLM/PDM and quality systems (ISO/AS/cGMP as applicable).
Continuous improvement: identify opportunities for performance, quality, and cost improvements across products, tooling, and fixtures.
(For senior levels) Lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate cross-functional design reviews.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or related).
0+ years of relevant experience (internships/co-ops count); we’re hiring from entry to senior.
Proficiency with 3D CAD and 2D drawings; working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; comfort with data and basic statistics.
Clear communicator who collaborates well in a team-based manufacturing environment.
Commitment to working safely and supporting a strong safety culture.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Internship/co-op or professional experience in product/equipment design, tooling, or fixtures.
Experience with DFM/DFA and common manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, molding, casting, PCB for EE).
Exposure to FEA/CFD or scripting (MATLAB/Python) for analysis/automation.
Familiarity with PLM/PDM and ERP (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, Arena, Agile).
Knowledge of regulated quality systems (ISO 9001/13485, AS9100, or FDA/cGMP).
For senior roles: proven project leadership, supplier collaboration, and mentoring.
Why Join Us
Impactful work from day one; ownership of real designs.
Cross-functional exposure and growth opportunities (including mentorship for new grads).
Competitive pay/benefits and a culture that values safety, learning, and continuous improvement.
