Advanced Maintenance Technician II - Engineering

Job Summary: This role supports the needs of patients, staff, and medical professionals by efficiently performing general preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of electrical appliances, systems, and equipment. Responsibilities include upkeep of clinical and non-clinical devices, boilers, chillers, air handlers, exhaust fans, medical gas systems, refrigeration units, water pumps, and plumbing fixtures. The technician will utilize building automation systems to monitor and control temperature throughout the facility. Essential Responsibilities: Repair and maintain electrical appliances, replace defective outlets, and perform minor wiring tasks. Install, test, and troubleshoot electrical circuits and equipment up to 600 volts, including emergency power generator systems. Inspect and replace lighting, power circuits, and electrical components using instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and voltmeters. Conduct inspections, cleaning, and repairs on plumbing systems including ice machines, toilets, sinks, showers, and drains. Install and repair minor pipes and fixtures, testing for leaks. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, including large air handlers, boilers, chillers, split systems, and cooling towers. Monitor energy management systems to ensure proper HVAC function, including thermostats, airflow, VAV boxes, and control valves. Carry out light carpentry tasks such as door inspections, hardware repairs, drywall patching, and installation of wall-mounted items. Assist with infection prevention barrier installation. Maintain and repair commercial laundry and kitchen equipment. Clean and repair ice machines, water recovery systems, lift stations, grease traps, roof drains, and air grilles. Respond to maintenance service calls, including on-call and weekend shifts. Basic computer and typing skills are beneficial. Keep maintenance tools and equipment clean, organized, and in good working order. Operate vehicles to travel between facilities and surrounding areas for job duties and parts delivery. A valid US driver's license is required. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required: Minimum of three years hands-on experience in industrial or commercial maintenance; healthcare experience is preferred. Graduation from a trade school or equivalent combination of education and experience. Work Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm, 40 hours per week. Location: Regional healthcare facility in the Midwest United States.
