This is a player-coach role, combining team leadership with hands-on support and operational oversight.This is an in-office role based in New York City, with occasional travel to the New Jersey office as needed.Job Responsibilities IncludeDirectly supervises the IT Support Analyst for the New York and New Jersey offices.Provides overall accountability for the delivery of technology services to the offices by the team.Provides a clear point of contact for IT support queries from end users and management in the local offices.Facilitates communication in both directions between central Technology functions, office management, and end users within the offices.Promotes the firm's technology initiatives and provides direct communication to the offices on technology programs.Delivers first and second level technology support on PC based and infrastructure issues.Provides desk-side support and other face-to-face support services for users, such as one-to-one coaching, configuration services, clinics, and proactive maintenance services.Researches, develops and documents best practices and standard procedures using the team's knowledge management tool.Assists with the execution of firmwide technology projects, providing local leadership, communication and project management as required.Manages the integration of specialized applications and technology services required by individuals and small teams within the offices.Performs local contract, licensing and vendor management for technology products and services not covered under firmwide programs.Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of local technology systems, such as telecommunication links and LAN cabling.Provides support for hardware within the New York and New Jersey offices including PCs, laptops, peripherals, telephones, mobile devices, and printers. Provides hands-on hardware support, physical deployment/installation and preventative maintenance, and manages relationships with providers for warranty and outsourced hardware support.Ensures that internal and external users of conference rooms enjoy a professional, high-quality technology experience. Proactively manages conference room equipment including laptops, projection, video conference systems, wired and wireless networking, telephony, printing, digital signage and ancillary A/V systems.Assists with technology aspects of external events run by the local offices, either in person or by engaging with third party support providers.Assists with routine operational support such as backups, capacity management of file and email services, disk management and fault isolation. Developing a capacity plan to support planned growth in the offices.Contributes to local and firmwide technology budget processes, identifying requirements and assisting with estimating costs.Ensures that equipment inventory and local office stock supply levels are adequate and up-to-date and purchases supplies to meet sufficient levels for each offices.Manages or assists others in management of facility and physical security systems.Maintains the confidentiality of the Firm, its employees, and client information. Handles sensitive information and issues responsibly and with discretion.Occasionally travels to the New Jersey office, as needed.Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and two years' related experience; or four to six years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Law firm experience is desired. At least two years of experience supervising a technology team is required.Must have strong writing skills, great attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Ability to think creatively.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 or later; knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 or later; knowledge of desktop applications, preferably in a legal environment; experience with PC-based systems, mobile devices and remote access tools; suitable IT qualification at NVQ level (or equivalent) desirable; basic networking knowledge and experience; experience in using imaging systems to deploy standard operating system builds.Experience in delivering Technology training is desired.Must be action-oriented and approach obstacles with a positive, "can-do" approach.Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $120,000.
