Plant Accountant
Overview LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Revenue / Plant Accountant to support midstream operations with a substantial operating footprint. This role sits at the intersection of Accounting, Commercial, and Operations and is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, high‑volume plant and pipeline environments.The position offers hands‑on ownership of the close, exposure to sophisticated revenue structures, and the opportunity to influence processes while working within a stable, growth‑oriented energy platform known for long‑term investment and disciplined operations.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary Quorum TIPS power user for plant accounting, including:Maintaining and validating pricing, rate scales, escalations, and contractual termsManaging system allocations, plant statements, and settlement calculationsEnsuring accurate system setup aligned to POP, Keep‑Whole, and Fee‑Based contractsAct as a technical resource for Quorum TIPS questions, troubleshooting, and process improvementsLead monthly plant accounting close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and flux analysisReconcile inlet vs. outlet volumes, including residue gas, NGLs, fuel usage, shrink, and L&UCalculate and validate net residue MMBtu and NGL gallons for revenue recognitionSupport revenue recognition for gas sales, NGL sales, and processing fees in accordance with contract termsPerform imbalance accounting, tracking over/under deliveries by producer or customerReview and validate component settlements (ethane, propane, butane, etc.)Partner with Commercial and Operations to interpret contracts and resolve discrepanciesInvestigate and explain month-over-month volume and revenue variancesMaintain pricing, escalations, and allocations in midstream systems (Quorum TIPS or similar)Support audits, inquiries, and special projects requiring advanced midstream accounting expertiseProvide guidance and training to junior accountantsQualifications8+ years of experience in midstream revenue / plant accountingStrong knowledge of:Gas measurement (MCF, MMBtu, gallons)POP, Keep-Whole, and Fee-Based contractsShrink, fuel, plant recoveries, and L&UExperience reconciling plant volumes and complex revenue streamsAdvanced Excel skills (large datasets, pivot tables, lookups)Experience with ERP and midstream systems (SAP PRA, Quorum TIPS, or similar)Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and solve complex issuesStrong communication skills with the ability to translate operational data into clear financial insightsEducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
