Through regenerative farming demonstration and training, innovative research, direct farmer support, and collaborations, Wolfe's Neck Center works to advance agriculture - on our own farm, regionally, and nationally - to accelerate holistic change in food systems and mitigate the effects of a changing climate.About The Northeast Farmers FundThe Northeast Farmers Fund, a project of Wolfe's Neck Center for Agriculture & the Environment, provides farmers with funding, technical assistance, and soil analysis services to support the adoption of regenerative agricultural practices and expanded market opportunities. Technical Assistance Providers (TAPs) play a critical role in helping farmers successfully navigate this program, from enrollment through project completion.Scope of WorkTechnical Assistance Providers (TAPs) are the primary point of contact for farmers participating in the Northeast Farmers Fund. TAPs support farmers through enrollment, contracting, implementation, documentation, and reporting, while helping them plan effective use of program funds for conservation practice implementation and/or projects that expand their market access opportunities.This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys working directly with farmers, is highly organized, and has experience balancing relationship-based work with administrative and documentation requirements.This is a contractor role with variable hours.Key ResponsibilitiesFarmer Enrollment and SupportServe as the main point of contact for farms throughout the programGuide farmers through application, program enrollment, and contractingHelp farmers identify eligible and impactful uses of program fundsFarm Project CoordinationOversee the farmer contracting process from start to finishProvide high-level guidance to help farmers navigate the planning and implementation of funded activities (practice implementation and/or market access projects)Make referrals to specialized experts when neededMonitor farmer progress and help troubleshoot challenges as they arise Documentation and ReportingCollect required information and materials from farmers for program enrollment, final reporting, and verification of project completion (including maps, quotes, photos, and receipts)Enter and manage data in program systemsHelp farmers understand program expectations, timelines, and reporting requirementsSoil SamplingPerform or coordinate soil sampling on farms as necessary, following protocol developed for the Northeast Farmers Fund programParticipate in required soil sampling trainingAssist with data collection and submission as neededRequired QualificationsSignificant experience working directly with farmers or agricultural organizationsExcellent organizational and administrative skillsStrong database and/or spreadsheet management experienceProven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlinesClear and professional communication skillsWillingness and ability to travel regionally within the NortheastAbility to work independently and remotelyPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with regenerative, organic, or conservation agricultureExperience with farmer grant or incentive programsKnowledge of agricultural market development, certifications, or supply chainsStrong motivation to work in regenerative agriculture, including but not limited to holding related certifications or licensesPhysical RequirementsSitting for extended periods, frequent typing, and regular computer useVisits to farms will require bending, light lifting, digging, and walking on uneven terrain, as well as driving for extended periods of timeCompensation & Time CommitmentThis is a contractor position with variable hours that does not include benefits Technical Assistance Provider will be required to carry their own worker's compensation insurance for the duration of the contact period or otherwise submit an Independent Contractor StatementTechnical Assistance Provider will be required to provide their own computerCompensation based on an hourly rate of $80-$100/hour, with time expectations varying by farmAnticipated time commitment: 5-10 hours required/farm, with a minimum of 40 farms in Technical Assistance Provider's 2026 portfolio.
