This position provides hands-on experience across a variety of technical consulting assignments, including utility benchmarking, energy and water audits, building data analysis, commissioning support, and sustainability reporting.This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who is interested in developing technical expertise in building systems, energy efficiency, and commercial real estate sustainability.ResponsibilitiesSupport energy and water benchmarking, ESG reporting, climate resiliency studies, and sustainability assessmentsCollect, organize, and analyze utility data for energy, water, and emissions reportingAssist with site data collection, field verification, and building information gathering through site visits and remote coordinationSupport preliminary energy and water audits, commissioning tasks, and green certification documentationConduct research on building systems, energy conservation measures, utility incentives, and sustainability program requirementsAssist in preparing reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and client deliverablesCoordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal team members to obtain project information and schedule tasksTrack project deadlines, document status, and deliverable schedules in internal systemsMaintain target utilization goals and meet project deadlinesAdhere to company policies, procedures, and valuesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical fieldStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentPreferred QualificationsEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward EITInternship, co-op, or academic project experience related to energy, sustainability, HVAC, building systems, or commercial real estateFamiliarity with energy benchmarking platforms, ESG reporting, or green building programKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesInterest in energy efficiency, sustainability, and building performanceBasic understanding of building systems, including HVAC, lighting, controls, and envelope systemsAbility to interpret technical information and organize large datasetsStrong attention to detail and time management skillsWillingness to learn field procedures, technical tools, and consulting workflowsPhysical RequirementsAbility to read printed materials and electronic documentsAbility to travel up to 20% for site visits and project-related activitiesAbility to climb ladders and stairs as needed during field workAbility to work outdoors and in non-conditioned building or mechanical spaces on occasionCompensation:Expected salary range: $60,000–$70,000 annuallyThe pay scale for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note, the disclosed pay scale estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location where the position may be filled.
