Assistant Project Manager

Department: OperationsLocation: Moncks Corner, SCDescriptionThe Assistant Project Manager assists the Project Manager with the daily management activities for the job site including contract review and administration, cost management, progress quantity verification, safety, personnel management, materials purchasing, and other project support roles. Work Environment:Work is performed both in an office setting and outdoors in all types of environmental conditions. This position must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach above shoulder height, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.ResponsibilitiesPrepare drawings, sketches, change orders, estimates, RFI (request for information) to support projectsMaintain submittal logs, assuring all submittals are thoroughly and accurately reviewed for content and conformance with construction documentsInterpret designs and drawings, prepare takeoffs, research and recommend resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, and errorsRecognize changes to work that differ from construction documents and take appropriate actionAssist with procurement, including quantity takeoffs and pricing of purchase orders, subcontracts, and potential changes to the scope of workEnsure completed work complies with codes, drawings, and specificationsCreate correspondence to owners, subcontractors, and engineers.Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager with budget tracking, job cost review, and reportingAssist in the preparation of job status reports and participate in project status meetingsConduct job site inspections to assure conformance with contract documentsAssist with pre-construction activities as needed: construction planning and design, interpretation of design and drawings, application of construction methodsParticipate in field activities, notify the Project Manager or the Superintendent of any personnel issues, complaints, or injuriesAssemble, organize, and maintain documentation needed for timely project beginning and closing activitiesParticipate with the project team to maintain accurate and up-to-date plans and logs, RFI, change orders, inspections, and testingSupport safety program policies, procedures, implementation, and compliance verificationMay perform Project Manager duties on smaller projects, or under the Project Manager’s supervision on larger projects, including but not limited to supervising Field/Project Engineers and Foremen in a limited rolePerform other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field of study, and/or equivalent work experience BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience and qualificationsHealth benefits and 401(k) PlanPaid Time OffHoliday PayCompany vehicle and fuel card Cell phone allowance
