This is an opportunity for a precision-driven professional to play a critical role in aerospace manufacturing-designing and building the tooling that keeps production accurate, efficient, and running at the highest standards.About the Role & Your ImpactAs a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the precision tooling that drives complex manufacturing processes. Your expertise in machining, measurement, and tooling design will directly impact product quality, equipment performance, and overall production success. This is a high-visibility role where craftsmanship and technical skill truly matter.Key ResponsibilitiesTool Design, Fabrication & RepairDesign, build, repair, and modify dies, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and precision toolingInterpret blueprints, specifications, and complex dimensions to meet exact tolerancesTroubleshoot worn or damaged tooling and perform rework, sharpening, and fittingSupport both scheduled and urgent tooling repairs to minimize downtimePrecision Machining & MeasurementOperate manual toolroom equipment including lathes, mills, and grindersUse precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and comparatorsApply GD&T, shop math, geometry, and trigonometry in tooling fabricationEnsure tooling meets all specifications for fit, finish, and functionProcess Support & Continuous ImprovementCollaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to develop tooling solutionsRecommend improvements to tooling design, materials, and manufacturing processesMaintain detailed records of tooling dimensions, repairs, and revisionsSupport root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiativesQuality & ComplianceEnsure all tooling meets AS9100 standards and customer requirementsInspect completed tooling for accuracy, quality, and readinessMaintain high standards of safety, precision, and organization in the toolroomTool Control & Shop SupportManage tooling inventory, storage, and traceabilityMonitor tool wear and proactively communicate repair or replacement needsSupport inventory planning and coordinate with external vendors as neededRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent5+ years of experience as a Tool Maker or precision tooling specialistStrong knowledge of tooling fabrication, repair, and maintenanceAdvanced proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measurementStrong mathematical skills, including geometry, trigonometry, and tolerance analysisHands-on experience with manual machining equipmentExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentPreferred QualificationsTechnical certification or Associate degree in Tooling, Machining, or Manufacturing TechnologyExperience in aerospace, fastener manufacturing, or other precision industriesFamiliarity with CNC machining, forging, thread rolling, and grinding processesExperience with CAD/CAM or tooling design softwareApply TodayIf you are a precision-focused craftsman who takes pride in building high-quality tooling and solving complex challenges, we want to hear from you.
