Part time/Full time Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Part-time or Full-time Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant! In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to support children’s development and enhance their ability to perform daily activities. In outpatient clinics, you’ll play a key part in helping young patients reach their full potential through engaging, personalized therapy sessions. Duties Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing individualized care plans tailored for pediatric patients Support children with activities that improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities such as dressing and grooming (ADLs) Help facilitate therapy sessions in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or home health environments Monitor and document patient progress, noting improvements and areas needing additional focus Aid in preparing therapy materials and setting up equipment for sessions Collaborate with families and caregivers to reinforce therapeutic goals and strategies at home Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment conducive to children’s comfort and engagement Qualifications Prior experience working with pediatric populations is preferred Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric care Knowledge of occupational health principles and patient care standards in inpatient and outpatient environments Familiarity with assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and developing care plans for children Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with therapists, families, and healthcare teams Ability to adapt therapy techniques based on individual patient needs and developmental stages Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or equivalent is required; ongoing professional development is encouraged Embark on a fulfilling career path where your skills directly impact the well-being of children!
