Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. This contract position is located near Grand Blanc, MI, and offers multiple openings across K-12 self-contained and resource classrooms. You’ll make a direct impact in classrooms with a maximum of 22 students, ensuring each learner receives individualized support.Key Qualifications:Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with preferred endorsements in Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), Learning Disabilities (LD), or MDE ZA (Early Childhood) along with at least one other Special Education endorsementExperience working in urban districts is highly valuableDeep understanding of MARSE and IDEA Federal RegulationsAbility to collaborate with paraprofessionals, behavior specialists, and school support teamsOfficial university transcripts required before placementWillingness to participate in remote interviews and to work onsite (not a remote or VOCO role)Comfortable discussing challenges faced by urban children and identifying resources suitable for their needs and familiesKey Responsibilities:Deliver effective instruction and case management in self-contained and resource classrooms across K-12Address student needs in Cognitive Impairment or Learning Disabilities, with a dedicated Emotional Impairment position available at the middle school levelMaintain compliance with individualized education programs (IEPs) and applicable special education regulationsFoster an inclusive, supportive classroom climate, collaborating regularly with paraprofessionals, school-based specialists, and support teamsAttend and participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training provided by the academic teamWith structured support in place—including mentorship, paraprofessional assistance, behavior specialists, and opportunities for professional development—you’ll have the tools and community necessary to thrive.Ready to take the next step in your special education journey?
