Territory Sales Representative (Power Transmission)Location: Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota & South DakotaCompany: HerringtonPT (HPT) – Manufacturer’s Sales Representative AgencyIndustry: Power Transmission / Industrial Manufacturing / AutomationAbout the RoleWe are seeking a high-performing Territory Sales Representative with strong experience in industrial or power-transmission sales to represent our portfolio of manufacturers across Northeast Wisconsin. This individual will build relationships with OEMs, distributors, and end-users, driving growth across mechanical power-transmission components including gearboxes, motors, belts, pulleys, clutches, brakes, chain, guide rail, and related technologies.This is an entrepreneurial, autonomous role for someone who wants to run a territory like their own business while benefiting from an established brand and strong manufacturer relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Territory ManagementManage and grow a multi-county territory across NE Wisconsin.Develop strategic account plans for OEMs, distributors, integrators, and industrial end-users.Conduct customer visits, product presentations, technical discussions, and line reviews.Identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining existing relationships.Manufacturer PartnershipRepresent multiple power-transmission manufacturers with professionalism and technical knowledge.Submit activity reports, opportunity updates, and project pipelines.Collaborate closely with internal operations to ensure timely follow-up and excellent customer service.Technical & Market ExpertiseUnderstand mechanical power-transmission components, applications, and value propositions.Assist customers with product selection, cross-referencing, and engineering discussions.Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, product changes, and customer needs.Entrepreneurial ResponsibilitiesOperate with autonomy and accountability—this role mirrors that of an independent rep.Maintain a disciplined cadence of prospecting, quoting, pipeline management, and follow-through.Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, and a “hunter” mentality when necessary.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree (Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related preferred).2–5+ years of experience in industrial, power-transmission, automation, or mechanical sales.Demonstrated history of sales success and territory growth.Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial components or systems.Entrepreneurial mindset — self-starter, proactive, persistent.Valid driver’s license; ability to travel regionally.Preferred:Existing relationships with OEMs, MROs, or distributors in the Wisconsin industrial market.Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).What We OfferCompetitive compensation package (salary + commission/bonus).Opportunity for long-term growth in a stable, respected regional agency.A supportive, collaborative environment with flexibility and autonomy.Access to strong brands, technical support, and established customers.
