Software Engineer - Manufacturing Test Systems
RESPONSIBILITIES:Kfore's engineering technology client is seeking a Mid- to Senior-Level Software Engineer to join their growing team in Orem, TX. This is a direct search working closely with the hiring manager.Summary:In this role, you will design and maintain automated manufacturing test software used to validate hardware and firmware against strict quality standards. The work sits at the intersection of software, hardware, and manufacturing.Responsibilities:Develop Python-based automated test systems for production configuration, calibration, and validationBuild software that interfaces with sensors, actuators, and data acquisition equipmentCreate and maintain manufacturing dashboards and reporting (Grafana, Matplotlib)Maintain test infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principlesWrite and optimize SQL queries for test data storage and analysisManage cloud storage for large manufacturing data setsPartner with operations, hardware, and software teams to ensure test coverage and manufacturabilityTroubleshoot failures and support root cause analysis and continuous improvementREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience4-8+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in manufacturing or production environmentsStrong Python expertiseExperience with automated test frameworksProficiency in Linux environments, including services, device interfacing, and shell scriptingExperience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)Ability to debug issues across software, hardware, and networkingAbout You:Systems thinker comfortable operating across disciplinesDetail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and reliabilityConfident supporting production environments where test automation impacts product qualityPreferred Skills:Manufacturing or production test experienceSensor-based or instrumentation-heavy systemsIaC, Docker/Kubernetes, and AWS or Azure exposureStrong analytical background (vector math, Fourier transforms)The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.
