Overview Description: Job responsibilities include providing structural engineering services and field support, conducting preparation of designs and calculations, conducting site visits, and producing and checking structural steel design calculations and drawings. Responsibilities Provide structural engineering services and field support, conduct preparation of designs and calculations, perform site visits, and produce and check structural steel design calculations and drawings. Experience 5-7 years heavy industrial/power plant experience Qualifications Skillsets and expertise required include detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies, significant structural steel connection design experience, proficiency with structural codes and standards, extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components, strong computer skills. Proficiency with structural computer programs such as MathCAD and STAAD PRO, working knowledge of ANSYS, working knowledge of OSHA regulations, ability to coordinate and manage multiple small to mid-sized, single or multi-discipline projects, ability to perform structural inspections and provide written reports, strong problem solving and decision making abilities, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal customers, design engineering staff and/or vendors. Preferred Skills: Design experience with electric utility transmission structures is a plus, but not required. Preferred Skills: Professional Engineering registration is a plus, but not required. Education An accredited bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
