Guests enjoy exceptional American fare made from fresh, seasonal ingredients, with an ever-evolving menu that highlights creative, seasonal flavors.Role Description The Paid Summer Event Intern at The Elm is a full-time, on-site role based in La Grange, IL. This intern supports the events team with day-to-day coordination of private events, including weddings, showers, and special celebrations. Responsibilities include assisting with event setup and breakdown, preparing event materials, and helping maintain organized event timelines and checklists. The intern will communicate with guests and vendors under the guidance of event managers, support venue tours, and help answer inquiries about event packages. Additional duties include updating basic event marketing materials, assisting with social media content related to events, and providing general front-of-house support to ensure a high-quality guest experience.QualificationsStrong customer service skills and a genuine interest in creating positive guest experiences.Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and friendly demeanor.Interest or experience in event planning and coordination, including attention to detail and time management.Interest or basic knowledge in event marketing and sales, including comfort speaking about event offerings and features.Ability to work on-site in La Grange, IL, including evenings and weekends as needed for events.Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light physical tasks related to event setup and breakdown.Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in hospitality, communications, marketing, event management, or a related field is preferred.Reliable, organized, and collaborative, with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.Compensation $21-$25 per hour This internship offers hands-on experience in hospitality, event management, sales, marketing, and business operations. Interns will work directly with ownership and senior management and gain exposure to all aspects of running one of the largest restaurant and event venues in Chicago's western suburbs.Exceptional candidates will have the opportunity to develop valuable industry experience and may be considered for future roles in event management, sales, marketing, hospitality operations, and business development.
