Description of role:
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Packaging Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving packaging solutions that enhance product protection, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles to create efficient packaging systems that meet both customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop packaging solutions for a variety of products including bottles, jars, tubes, and other containers.
Analyze packaging requirements based on customer needs and product specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, marketing, and quality assurance to align packaging designs with product specifications.
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source appropriate materials.
Work closely with production and supply chain teams to optimize packaging processes and reduce costs.
Conduct root cause analysis to identify packaging failures or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions ensuring that packaging materials comply with regulatory and environmental standards.
Oversee the implementation of new packaging technologies such as robotics and vision inspection systems.
Fabricate prototypes and conduct testing on various packaging materials, including plastics injection molding.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for packaging-related issues.
Ensure that packaging meets product protection, quality, and cost requirements.
Maintain documentation related to packaging specifications, testing results, and compliance with industry standards.
Skills and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. (REQUIRED)
4+ years of experience in packaging engineering (REQUIRED).
Experience with primary packaging for cosmetics, personal care, or related industries preferred.
Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant design tools is a plus.
Strong knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and equipment.
Familiarity with regulatory standards and environmental requirements for packaging.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and project management abilities.
Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes and materials.
Ability to fabricate prototypes using various materials and techniques.
Experience with vision inspection systems to ensure quality control in packaging.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
