Automation Engineer

Job Profile Summary We are looking for an Automation Engineer to support the implementation of a new mobile application. This position will be full-time contract and onsite. What You’ll Do Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback Driving the adoption of best practices around design, build, test, and performance Work with our development teams to design, develop, and execute scripts which validate, to a high degree of confidence, test cases defined within the project’s test plan Support the automated functional testing by our testing teams across multiple messaging protocols, focusing on application flow and validation of test results Track and communicate task progress, status, and key performance metrics Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards resolution Communicate effectively across multiple teams/external vendors (Operations, Project Teams, Quality Service, etc.), as well as different personnel (Developers, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, etc.) when required Conduct troubleshooting/test execution in support of remediation efforts as required. Analyze data and application changes and document their impact on the performance automation task (test cases, scripting, scenario execution, etc.) Ensure the test execution results fulfill the defined test objectives Ensure the appropriate testing and monitoring tools/technologies are configured accordingly with the test objectives/project team requirements Expected to maintain technical expertise via self-education in areas governing computer sciences, test automation, and Quality Assurance Interface directly with the DevOps and Infrastructure teams regarding Functional test environments Timely and accurate communication of testing events, daily status, and test execution results, etc. Successfully complete mandatory security awareness training on annual basis Design and create test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases What You'll Need Required: Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Business or Public Administration, or in a related discipline. Proficiency with relevant back-end programming languages, programming frameworks and tools, databases, and development platforms, including C#, .NET, and SQL or Oracle. 6+ years of experience with test automation development, with Selenium and JavaScript Demonstrated functional test experience, including test analysis Physical Demands Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc. Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Experience: Test automation: 6 years (Required) C#: 6 years (Preferred) .NET: 6 years (Preferred) Oracle: 6 years (Preferred) SQL: 6 years (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Washington, DC (Required) Ability to Relocate: Washington, DC: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
