Senior Tax Accountant

Primary ResponsibilitiesPreparation and review of personal and fiduciary income tax returns including multi-state filingsPreparation and review of tax projections for planning and estimated taxes and other tax planningRespond to tax notices and assist with tax auditsTax research and special projectsReview of payroll tax returns and other information tax return filingsProvide financial administration/financial concierge services for multiple clients - this includes direct contact with clients as well as supervision and review of bookkeeping services such as general ledger postings, payroll, bank reconciliations, write-ups and preparation of financial statementsProvide strategic tax advisory services to clients on equity compensation arrangements, including stock options, restricted stock units, and employee stock purchase plans, optimizing tax outcomes and ensuring regulatory compliance.Review client specific reports including financial statements, budgets, cash flow and spending reports, as well as financial plansResponsible for developing and maintaining superior client relationshipsInteraction with other members of a client's wealth management teamResponsible for all business aspects of client relationships including billing, collecting and maintaining profitabilityProvide comprehensive tax advisory services to private equity executives on carried interest structures, ensuring compliance with IRC Section 1061 three-year holding period requirements and optimizing the tax treatment of capital versus ordinary allocations.Navigate complex AMT planning for ISO exercises and multi-state tax allocation issues, ensuring accurate sourcing of equity compensation income across jurisdictions and optimal timing of elections under IRC Section 83(b). Required Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of income tax planning, financial planning and financial administrationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Masters in Tax a plusCPA license preferred, CFP desirableProficient in Bloomberg Tax and BNA software systems for tax research, compliance, and advisory services5 - 7 years of High-Net-Worth tax experience with CPA firm or wealth management firmExtensive experience with preparation and review of individual income tax returns with an emphasis on the taxation of high-net-worth individualsProficiency with CCH Axcess TaxAbility to manage professionals, workflow, to multitask and meet deadlinesExcellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detailProfessionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a team mentality Compensation Range: $100,000-150,000 Why Cerity Partners: Our people drive our success by working together to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
