This position supports a small rural school by delivering engaging, rigorous, and culturally relevant instruction while fostering civic responsibility, critical thinking, and literacy across content areas.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and teach U.S. History and related social studies courses aligned to CDE standards (history, civics, geography, economics).Use primary and secondary sources to build critical thinking, analysis, and writing skills.Assess student learning through a variety of methods and adjust instruction accordingly.Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.Integrate technology and real-world connections appropriate to a rural setting.Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding progress and expectations.Participate in school initiatives, collaboration, and professional development.QualificationsBachelor's degree in History, Social Studies, or related field.Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement or ability to obtain.Knowledge of CDE standards and effective instructional practices.Strong classroom management and communication skills.PreferredExperience teaching junior high and high school social studies.Willingness to support extracurricular activities or coaching.ScheduleFull-time, school-year position.
