Special Education Resource Teacher2026- 2027 Job DescriptionJob Summary:Under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Principal, the Special Education Resource Teacher / Case Manager will be responsible for the administration and supervision of the educational programs for students with disabilities. This position involves both teaching students as well as carrying a caseload of special education students to ensure special education instruction is provided to meet State of Nevada as well as federal standards for special education. The Special Education Teacher/ Case Manager will assist in the department's goal that all students are in an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning.The teacher will be expected to adhere to Amplus Academy's professional standards as well as Nevada Department of Education licensure standards. Amplus Academy is a classical education charter school located in the southwest area of Las Vegas. Amplus Academy has two campuses serving Kindergarten- 12th grade students.Terms of Employment: 10-month per Contract of Employment (179 Day Calendar)Salary: The compensation for this position is in alignment with the Amplus Governing Board approved Salary Schedule; Salary Schedule based on years' experience and degree held. Compensation for all positions are determined by the Governing Board and Administration of Amplus Academy. Consideration is given for experience and specialized skills in determining salary.Salary Range: $50,840- $80,000 with 100% Employer Paid PERSDuties/Responsibilities:The list of Duties and Responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.Curriculum Planning and InstructionPlans and develops an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the classroom, adhering to educational best practices and school, state, and federal curriculum guidelines.Designs and delivers individual lesson plans using a variety of teaching techniques, appealing to various learning styles.Differentiates instruction to accommodate diverse learners, including implementing specific accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language Learners (ELL).Participate in special education programs focused on integration, inclusion, and learning opportunities for all students.Prepares materials for lessons, assignments, and tests.Assessment/ Student MonitoringEvaluates, corrects, and grades student performance.Analyzes student progress and provides appropriate instruction based on data.Monitors students' progress throughout the year and evaluates preparedness for graduation, vocational school, or college, as appropriate.Administers standardized tests in accordance with school and state laws and policies.Compliance, Documentation and LegalCreate Individual Education Programs (IEP), 504, and behavior plans.Assess students for eligibility using approved protocols and evaluations.Maintain current knowledge of laws and regulations related to special education.Participate (under Administrative guidance) in the informal resolution of complaints and due process issues.Intervention and Data ManagementImplement Tier II and III interventions within the RTI model.Progress monitor students on IEPs as well as those within the RTI process.Assist in the allocation of resources and monitor the use of state, federal, and local funds.Classroom Management/ SafetyDevelops and ensures a positive and supportive classroom environment with the opportunity for students to learn.Enforces safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.Monitors halls, study periods, and lunchrooms with other faculty and staff.Communication/ CollaborationFosters collaborative partnerships with students and families, maintaining open lines of communication regarding academic milestones and behavioral development.Communicates progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and/or the principal.Provide consistent communication on special education issues to all stakeholders (parents, staff, etc.)Administration/ Professional DevelopmentManages required paperwork for individual student files, attendance and incident reports, and other necessary records.Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities, workshops, and other
