Neurosurgery NP/PA - Outpatient Clinic

Location: Salem, Oregon Area Job Type: Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Full-time, Permanent Schedule: Monday – Friday (No Call, No Nights, No Weekends) Job Overview An expanding neurosurgery program in the Salem, Oregon area is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a high-level surgical specialty while maintaining an excellent work-life balance. Unlike traditional neurosurgery roles, this position is mainly outpatient with no on-call requirements, making it ideal for providers who value their evenings and weekends. The team is currently interviewing both experienced providers and new graduates. The surgeons and current Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are eager to train and provide mentorship to the right candidate. Why Join This Team? Work-Life Balance: Strictly Monday through Friday schedule with option for 4 or 5 days per week. No call. No nights. No weekends. Mentorship: Excellent history of training new graduates and PAs/NPs from other specialties. Flexibility: While this is primarily a clinic-based role, there is an option to first-assist in the Operating Room (OR) for candidates interested in expanding their surgical skills. Responsibilities Clinical Management: Manage new and follow-up patients in an outpatient clinic setting. Patient Care: Perform post-operative management, conduct assessments, and handle consults. Collaboration: Work closely alongside a supportive team of Neurosurgeons and existing APPs. Optional Surgery: For those interested, there is potential to assist in surgery in the future. Qualifications Licensure: Current or eligible for Oregon Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license. Certification: DEA License required. Experience: Experience in outpatient care or surgical subspecialties is preferred, but new graduates with relevant clinical rotations are encouraged to apply. Aptitude: Familiarity with neurosurgery concepts and a willingness to learn. Compensation and Benefits Highly competitive base salary Retirement: 401(k) plan.
