Our customers include commercial, medical, and technology, as well as municipalities and government agencies.**Job Summary**The Porter Co., Inc is currently looking for an Estimator Manager that responsible foroverseeing and managing mechanical construction projects from inception to completion.This position requires experience leading multi-million-dollar mechanical constructionprojects. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet qualityand safety standards. The Project Manager will collaborate with clients, engineers,subcontractors, and internal teams to drive project success.The Estimator is responsible for estimating and providing management with detailedpricing for development of bid quotations and bid packages. He or she should haverelevant experience in preparing cost estimates for product manufacturing, constructionprojects, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product orservice. He or she may specialize according to particular service performed or type ofproduct manufactured.**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.- Assist in assembling estimates utilizing estimator takeoff data, vendor cost,subcontractor cost, and special project considerations- Develop competency in specialized estimating software to understand how dataflows through the system and how to review and validate the estimators' work- Provide assistance and a "second set of eyes" to estimators by reviewingconstruction documents, performing quantity take-offs of equipment, fixtures,drains- Work with estimators, vendors, and specialized estimating software to support theeffort of maintaining an accurate pricing database for budgets and bids- Manage vendor and subcontractor quotes including invitations to bid, coordinationduring the bidding process, and leveling scope- Assist in preparing proposal packages for bids and budgets- Help maintain preconstruction procedure manual and coach estimators onprocedures to ensure consistency- Support project management in estimating change orders- Confidently speak to the details of pricing exercises in scope reviews and interviewswith clients- Develop working relationships with vendors and subcontractors- Develop an understanding of the systems and standards that make up themechanical and plumbing scope of work on large commercial and industrialprojects- Attend pre-bid job walks and tour jobsites during construction to develop a basicknowledge of the full project life cycle- Participate in project kickoff meetings, help set goals and expectations forestimators on each project, and hold estimators accountable for progress anddeadlines- Track historical data from budgets, bids, and completed projects to fine-tune theaccuracy of future budgeting exercises**Qualifications**To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily.
