About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to join a high-performing engineering team focused on building and maintaining highly transactional, cloud-based systems.This role is ideal for a strong backend engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving complex technical problems related to scalability, security, and performance, particularly within financial or transaction-heavy platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain backend services using modern frameworks (e.g., .NET / .NET Core or similar).Build and optimize cloud-based microservices, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.Collaborate with engineering leadership to design solutions for complex technical challenges.Write, test, and troubleshoot code across the full software development lifecycle.Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives.Conduct code reviews and contribute to best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.Support modernization efforts, including migration from legacy systems to cloud environments.Required Qualifications3–5+ years of software engineering experience.Strong backend development experience in high-transaction environments (e.g., fintech, payments, e-commerce, or similar).Proficiency in modern backend technologies (e.g., .NET / .NET Core or equivalent).Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar).Ability to write, debug, and clearly explain code and solution approaches.Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with microservices architecture.Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).Experience with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, or similar).Experience working with or modernizing legacy systems.Additional programming language experience (e.g., C/C++) is a plus.What We’re Looking ForStrong critical thinking skills and the ability to break down complex problems.Clear communication and the ability to articulate technical decisions.High level of integrity and accountability throughout the interview and development process.Thoughtful and responsible use of tools (including AI), with the ability to explain and validate solutions.
