Senior Project ManagerHBK Engineering is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team. This role requires a valid PE license, though 10+ years of significant SUE or DOT experience may be considered in lieu of licensure. This position leads, supports, and directs teams consisting of project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in the design, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systems.This senior management role involves leading teams to identify all project risks and develop mitigation strategies while working on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction-related issues. The position requires managing, supervising, and scheduling execution of programs while monitoring productivity, quality, financial health, and progress with comprehensive oversight responsibilities.Office locations: Chicago, Oak Brook and Geneva, ILWhat You'll DoLead, support, and direct teams consisting of project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in design, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systemsLead teams to identify all project risks and develop comprehensive mitigation strategiesWork on challenging assignments including investigating, troubleshooting, and solving engineering and construction-related issuesPrepare, review, and approve proposals, contracts, and cost estimates with senior management authorityLead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget while managing financials and metrics related to projectsNegotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants and clientsManage, supervise, and schedule execution of programs with comprehensive oversightMonitor productivity, quality, financial health, and progress of programs across multiple projectsLead safety initiatives as needed by the organization and ensure program safety complianceReport all project and program updates to clients and make recommendations based on professional education and experienceManage, develop, mentor, and evaluate resources within the organizationTrain Project Coordinators, Senior Project Coordinators, and Project Managers in best practices and methodologiesTravel as required for project needs and client engagementCoordinate with area agencies, municipalities, and governing jurisdictions for project approvalsUtilize advanced software proficiency in AutoCAD, Deltek, and SharePoint for project managementLead engineering design teams through all phases of project designs with comprehensive oversight.What You'll BringBachelor's degree in EngineeringPE - Professional Engineering license required or 10+ years of SUE/DOT experience may be substituted10+ years of relevant experienceUtility design experience preferredProficient in AutoCADExperience in leading an engineering design team through all phases of project designsProficient in SharePointProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteStrong written and verbal communication abilitiesExperience leading and mentoring less experienced staffMust be able to work in a team environmentAbility to work under time-sensitive deadlinesFamiliarity with area agencies, municipalities, and governing jurisdictionsContract negotiation and management expertiseProgram management and financial oversight capabilitiesWhat You'll GetSenior management role leading diverse teams of project managers, engineers, designers, and field personnelLeadership responsibility for complex program execution with comprehensive productivity and quality oversightStrategic involvement in risk identification and mitigation strategy developmentAuthority in preparing, reviewing, and approving proposals, contracts, and cost estimatesProfessional development in contract negotiation and client relationship management at senior levelsLeadership opportunities in training and mentoring Project Coordinators, Senior Project Coordinators, and Project ManagersAdvanced responsibility for program financial management and metrics oversightSafety leadership responsibilities with organizational impactClient interface responsibilities at senior management level for program updates and professional recommendationsAdvanced training in AutoCAD, Deltek, and SharePoint for comprehensive project managementClear career progression pathway within senior Project Management Track leadershipProfessional certification support for CAPM/PMP credentialsSenior management career advancement opportunities within HBK Organization leadershipComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability and employer paid life insurance.
