Job Description We are seeking PRN PACU Registered Nurses (RNs) for upcoming opportunities in the Jeffersonville, IN area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from sedation or general anesthesia in an ambulatory surgery setting Monitor and assess vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and level of consciousness Maintain a clear and open airway through appropriate positioning, suctioning, and oxygen therapy as needed Assess patients for post-operative complications, including bleeding, respiratory distress, and adverse reactions to anesthesia Manages recovery from sedation, assessing and addressing side effects such as pain, nausea, and vomiting. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain control and anti-nausea medications. Prepare patients for discharge by evaluating readiness and ensuring stability Provide post-operative education and discharge instructions to patients and family members Communicate patient status and recovery progress with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and clinical staff Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Position Details Location: Jeffersonville, IN Setting: Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Job Type: PRN Duration: Ongoing Shift: Days Requirements Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Current RN license in the state of Indiana Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU or post-anesthesia recovery experience required Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience preferred Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) Experience with airway management and post-anesthesia recovery preferred Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
