Bartenders also entertain customers by providing stimulating conversation while filling drink orders. Regular duties include greeting customers, ensuring customers are of legal drinking age, learning about their preferences, answering questions, recommending menu items and preparing requested drinks to specification. Duties and Responsibilities:Greet and welcome guestsVerify identification and age requirements of customersMix traditional and inventive cocktailsProcess card and cash transactionsArrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displayClean glasses and bar utensilsClean bar, surrounding area, sinks, counters, chairs and other equipmentInventory supplies and equipment to ensure adequate levelsSlices and pits fruit for garnishing drinksKeep an eye on intoxication levels and respond appropriatelyIdentify belligerent customers and work with management when needed to maintain a safe environmentEmpty wastebaskets and remove trashPerform other duties as assigned Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredAbility to stand for prolonged periods of timeTips certification preferredBasic computer skillsBasic math skillsStrong communication skillsReading and writing abilities Skills and Abilities:Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely mannerReasoning - Uses reason and understanding when dealing with difficult situationsCustomer Service - Responds promptly to customer needs and solicits customer feedbackInterpersonal Skills - Maintains confidentialityOral Communication - Speaks clearly and confidently.
