The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supervising all mechanical activities on site to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient installation of gas turbine, compressors for our customers' projects. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on mechanical background, project coordination skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and schedule adherence.Essential DutiesLead and supervise all on-site mechanical activities related to turbine installation services (installation, inspection, alignment, commissioning, and testing) in accordance with approved OEM procedures and customer requirements.Plan, sequence, and schedule mechanical work packages; develop and maintain daily/weekly work plans and look-ahead schedules.Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, ASME, API, IEC standards as relevant).Manage field crews, including General foremen, technicians, and subcontractors; assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.Coordinate with project controls, procurement, crane/rigging teams, and field engineering to ensure the availability of tools, parts, and resources.Monitor and enforce safety programs; conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, JHA/JSA development, and incident investigations; lead by example to create a strong safety culture.Oversee quality control activities, including workmanship inspections, alignment reading, torque audits, welding procedures, NDE coordination, and test readiness reviews.Interface with onsite customer personnel and AP4 leaders to communicate progress, risks, and changes; manage customer expectations and maintain professional relationships.Manage the execution of mechanical changes, MOC (Managing Change Notices), and deviations; ensure proper documentation and traceability.QualificationsStrong Supervisory Skills to lead teams effectively and ensure collaboration and productivityAssociate's degree in mechanical engineering technology, diesel/heavy equipment technology or related field. 5+ years of experience as a power plant or industrial mechanic. Gas turbine experience preferred. Thorough understanding of machinery, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machining.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Must pass drug screening and background check.Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
