Analog Electronics Design Engineer

Our accelerated growth rate has created opportunities for experienced candidates to develop the next generation monitoring and control equipment for electric utility substations. We are seeking a skilled Analog Electronics Design Engineer to join our close-knit on-site multi-disciplinary team of Electronics and Software Design Engineers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing the designs of various analog and mixed signal systems, ensuring their performance robustness to specifications, with emphasis on reliability and manufacturability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join an established engineering firm with internal design and manufacturing arms (including in-house PCBA) serving clients in Electrical Power Utility Industry. The position requires a strong foundation in analog domain of electrical engineering, proficiency with SPICE simulation and EDA software, as well as experience validating and debugging the designs using lab measurement equipment.DutiesDesign, simulate, and verify high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits for applications such as sensor interfaces, signal conditioning, A/D D/A, power supplies and power management, etc.Develop schematics and layouts using EDA tools (i.e. Altium Designer) as well as facilitate the transition of existing designs from legacy CircuitMaker/TraxMaker to newer EDA tools.Specify components and perform simulations, noise analysis, and corner-case verification to ensure robust performance of the designs across all operating conditions.Optimize the designs for performance robustness, reliability, and manufacturability.Support design bring-up, characterization, and debugging using data loggers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other precision lab measurement tools.Work closely with systems engineer to define analog specifications and ensure seamless integration into larger systems.Facilitate conformance testing to IEEE and IEC standards for EMC such as IEEE C37.90 and IEC 61000-4 (SWC/EFT/EMI/ESD compatibility).QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.3+ years of experience in analog or mixed-signal designs.Proficiency with SPICE-based simulation tools and EDA design environments.Strong understanding of analog fundamentals - diodes, transistors/FETs, op-Amps, filters, ADCs/DACs, PLLs, and low noise design and PCB layout techniques.Experience with lab equipment for circuit validation and debugging.A problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, ability to work independently with minimal oversight, and a passion for engineering.Strong project management and communication skills including project scheduling and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
