Manager of Financial Reporting

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Manager of Financial Reporting on a Direct Hire basis. This role is based out of Golden, CO.SummaryThis role leads core accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with applicable standards. The position oversees general ledger activities, financial close processes, and audit coordination while driving process improvements and system optimization. This individual will also manage and develop a team and provide financial guidance to support organizational decision-making.ResponsibilitiesLead and develop an accounting team, establishing workflows, performance expectations, and professional development plansOversee general ledger operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processesEnsure accuracy and compliance of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and GASB standardsDevelop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and chart of accounts to support consistency and transparencyPrepare and support quarterly and annual financial statements, including comprehensive reporting deliverablesCoordinate external audits, including documentation preparation, auditor communication, and corrective actionsManage fund accounting activities, ensuring proper classification and reporting across multiple fund typesDesign and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory complianceDrive process improvements, ERP system enhancements, and cross-functional financial initiativesRequired Skills5+ years of accounting or financial management experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory roleStrong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, fund accounting, internal controls, and public sector financial complianceExperience managing financial close processes, preparing financial statements, and supporting auditsFamiliarity with ERP-based accounting systems and financial reporting toolsAbility to analyze financial data, identify risks, and implement process improvementsStrong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesPrior public sector experience (county/state/local); K12 experience preferredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)CMA or similar certification preferredH1 sponsorship is not available.PeerSource is a nationwide technology recruiting firm that prioritizes building strong relationships with the talented professionals we are fortunate to serve.
