Apply now »Electrical Technician - West Hershey PlantPosted Date: Apr 28, 2026Requisition Number: 126876Job Location: Hershey, PAPosition: HourlySign-On Bonus: $10,000About the Facility: The Hershey Company West Hershey plant is a Union plant producing products such as: White & Dark Paste, Kisses, Nuggets, Milk Bars, Almond Bars, Rolo, Syrup in a high-speed, complex manufacturing environment.PayStarting Pay: $41.12 per hour$0.75 per hour shift differential for working 2nd or 3rd shiftOT Potential$10,000 Sign-On BonusManufacturing Incentive Plan (MIP) EligibleTotal RewardsHealth Insurance (Medical, Dental, & Vision) — Starting Day 1401(k) Retirement Plan – with generous company matchHershey Stock Purchase ProgramLife Insurance and Short-Term DisabilityShiftsMust be flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidaysSchedule assignments upon hire are determined by plant needs and will be discussed during the interview processCandidate ProcessQualified applicants must successfully complete an electrical written skills assessmentThose receiving a passing score will advance to an onsite electrical hands-on assessment and interview with the hiring teamSummaryThis position requires Industrial Electrical/PLC experience in the food industry with knowledge of:MotorsIndustrial wiringElectro-mechanical drivesPLC application software/hardwareServo motion control applicationsAlso RequiredExcellent troubleshooting and communication skillsAbility to effectively participate in a team-oriented work environmentMajor Duties/ResponsibilitiesAssemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power toolsDiagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemInspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codesTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safetyAccept full responsibility for all safety procedures as stated in the JSA (Job Safety Analysis)Demonstrate self-motivational drive in learning new technologies as they applyCommunicate appropriately with operators, mechanics, electricians, engineers, supervisors, and plant leadershipPerform business management duties such as maintaining records and files; understand and help maintain work orders, preventative maintenance system, and SAPWork from ladders and lifts to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesRead and interpret electrical schematicsDemonstrate initiative to investigate and offer improvements to plant operationsService, clean, and inspect equipment periodically following established PMs (Preventative Maintenance)Safely operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks, hand trucks, lifts, boom liftsUtilize problem-solving techniques in resolving issues with other employeesAdhere to LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) proceduresHave a basic understanding of belts, belt drives, chain drives, gearboxes, and conveyorsCreate notifications and follow up on repairsEvaluate and make recommendations to change PM schedule or contentsMake up a bill of materials as requiredRead and interpret written descriptions or engineering blueprintsPerform PM and troubleshoot Motoman and ABB RobotsLearn and work with programs like PanelView, Factory Talk, RS Logix, SiemensDirect and train others to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring and equipment; provide expert knowledge and guidance to other employees in your fieldOther RequirementsFollow all safety requirements including but not limited to SDS (Safety Data Sheet), LOTO, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Electrical Flash NFPA 70-EFollow all Food Manufacturing rules and regulations including GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SQF (Safe Quality Foods)Demonstrate Hershey valuesUse PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)Maintain good housekeeping skillsAssessment RequirementsTo ensure the highest standards of maintenance proficiency, all applicants must successfully complete a maintenance-specific skills assessment.
