Assistant Controller with a Fashion Retail BrandLocation: New YorkJob SummaryOur client, a retail fashion brand, is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support financial operations for a fast-paced fashion retail brand, overseeing the close process, multi-entity reporting, and inventory accounting across wholesale, retail, and eCommerce channels.Responsibilities:-Support the Controller in managing the close process and multi-entity financial reporting.-Oversee GL, AP/AR, and intercompany accounting activities.-Ensure GAAP-compliant financials with strong controls and accuracy.-Lead inventory accounting across wholesale, retail, and eCommerce channels.-Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, and Sales to drive insights and alignment.-Own NetSuite from an accounting perspective, ensuring clean data and effective reporting.-Identify and implement process improvements to enhance scalability.-Support audits, compliance, and tax-related activities.Requirements:-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.-5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within fashion, retail, or consumer products; startup or high-growth environment experience is a plus.-Strong experience with inventory accounting, preferably within omni-channel businesses (wholesale, retail, and eCommerce).If this sounds like a fit, please submit your resume for consideration!You can use WorkGrades to collect and manage your references for free and share them with us or anyone else you choose by visiting workgrades.com/home/candidate.
