The core of your day will involve estimating, project management, process development, and working with the Manufacturing and Estimation Teams.We are looking for a self-starter with leadership potential. You will need a solid understanding of CNC machining, other common manufacturing processes, and GD&T.This is a hands-on position, requiring proven experience with solving manufacturing challenges related to CNC machining processes, several years of experience with milling, turning, and mill-turning operations, as well as advanced knowledge of CNC tooling.Internal customers include engineering, estimating, manufacturing, and quality teams.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping process plans and instructionsPreparing documentation for new manufacturing processesPreparing and creating engineering procedures, standards, and work instructionsRecommending technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performanceEstimating operational costs for machined parts or componentsWorking with the Estimation team and sometimes leading quoting activitiesCommunicating manufacturing capabilities and production schedules to facilitate production processesProviding technical expertise or support related to manufacturingImplementing new manufacturing methods, equipment, or processes to improve operationsReviewing part or component drawings and specifications for manufacturability or completenessPreparing operational reportsAnalyzing costs and benefits of proposed designs or projectsEvaluating production performance, including selection of manufacturing methods and fabricationProviding manufacturability feedback to customers from quoting through the New Part Introduction processRequired Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesTwo years of manufacturing experienceFamiliarity with G-Code and CAM ProgrammingInterpretation of engineering drawingsAn understanding of CNC setup and machining cycle timesWorking knowledge of manufacturing techniques, tooling, and equipmentWorking knowledge of GD&TProfessional written and verbal communication skillsDesired Experience and SkillsA 4-year BS degree in Process, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering and 2-5 years of relevant manufacturing experienceOr 5+ years of Relevant Engineering Experience3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorksProject Management Software like Smartsheet or Microsoft Project is a plusEstimating software such as Paperless PartsMicrosoft Office, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to lift 50 lbs.Working Conditions: office and factory floorYou should be proficient in:GD&TEquipment TroubleshootingCNC ToolingCNC ProgrammingG-CodeM-CodeCAD/CAM SoftwareMachines & technologies you'll use:CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Mazak, Haas, Okuma, Brother, Dmg Mori Seiki)CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) (Haas, Okuma, Dmg Mori Seiki)CNC Swiss Lathe (Tsugami)CAM Software (Mastercam, Esprit)CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC) (Mazak, Haas, Okuma, Dmg Mori Seiki)CNC Lathe (5+ axis) (Mazak, Okuma, Dmg Mori Seiki)
