Registration Secretary

Our busy psychiatric doctor’s office is looking for a part-time or full time Registration/Intake Secretary that can handle high volume new patient phone calls and some direct patient care on a daily basis. There is a lot of opportunity for growth with NAPA, while focusing primarily on GREAT customer service, as we work together to serve our patients in this community as a TEAM. This job is a part-time or full-time and becomes permanent after 90 days probationary period. Full-time position has the benefits after 90-day probationary period. Daily tasks will include: Ability to answer a multi-line phone system in a cheerful and professional manner at all times and route messages to the appropriate providers daily. New Patient Intake process, which includes: collecting vital information by interviewing the patient by phone prior to appointment scheduling and verifying insurance eligibility on various insurance websites and by phone if needed. Confirming patient appointments and updated personal and insurance information at each visit if needed and answering any patient questions and messages in a timely manner. Scheduling appointments in the EMR maintaining office files/EMR and patient records confidentially while adhering to HIPAA guidelines. Sitting, standing, bending, and moving intermittently during work hours. Subject to frequent interruptions from office staff or providers if questions about intake and scheduling are needed. Helping to maintain the provider’s schedules if needed. Opening and or closing the office (Mon-Thur 8-6pm) with a 1-hour lunch daily and allotted breaks periods and (Fri 8-1pm) Maintaining a clean and orderly office which includes some light Housekeeping (such as keeping your work station clean daily and taking out your own trash from your work station) Specific Requirements: Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public Must be able to type 45 words per minute and use a 10-key calculator. Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional staff Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the facility’s goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing sound patient care techniques. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and must posses the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing daily work schedule when needed. This position is part-time or full-time permanent, which would then have some benefits after a 90-day evaluation period for a Full-time employee. Required experience: High school diploma or equivalent Medical Receptionist/Secretary experience: 1 year preferred in a fast-paced setting, but not required Great Customer Service Skills: 1-2 years preferred in the medical field but not required insurance verification, eligibility and basic understanding of commercial insurances a must: 1 year (Required) 1 year working in a Medical EMR system preferred Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft word, computers, data entry, output, etc. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $15.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Experience: Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred) Customer service: 1 year (Required) Computer skills: 1 year (Required) Work Location: In person
