Staff Accountant

Launch is a certified minority and woman owned staffing firm, focused on direct hire placements in finance and accounting.Our client is a high growth startup in the financial services space. Currently seeking a staff accountant to join their global accounting team, the ideal candidate will assist with helping the team to build operational accounting and month-end close processes.Responsibilities: Assist with the monthly and quarterly financial closing process, including preparation of monthly journal entries and reconciliation packagesResponsible for the daily accounting operations including A/R, A/P, T&E, & CashPrepare high quality work papers & supporting schedules and manage fixed assetsAssist in working with the Company’s external auditors & tax professionals on coordination of quarterly and annual audits & filingsSupport and develop continual improvement and implementation of internal controls throughout functional accounting processes Requirements:1-3 years of accounting experience; experience in Big 4 auditing with financial services clients, or a high growth startup is a plusBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field requiredExperience with major ERP systems required (Netsuite preferred)Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail to analyze monthly financial dataStrong process improvement skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Office and presentation softwareAble to work under time pressure, prioritize a high workload, and meet strict deadlinesPositive attitude and ability to be flexible to changing priorities, especially in the period of month/quarter/year-end closingHighly organized executor with ability to juggle multiple tasks and ruthlessly prioritize in a dynamic and ever-changing environmentIndependent operator with a sharp eye for problems that can navigate ambiguity and ask for help when neededCreative problem solver, quickly designs high-impact solutionsSelf-starter who takes initiative, values impact over effort and is motivated to drive performancePractical and flexible doer who can adjust to rapidly changing environments
