Position Type: Secondary Education/Teacher on Special Assignment Date Posted: 5/11/2026 Location: District Wide Shakopee Public Schools is searching for a TOSA - 6-12 Learning, Teaching and Equity Coach (1.0 FTE). The Learning, Teaching and Equity (LTE) Coach will assist teachers by providing support in the areas of district professional development, critical instructional practices, curriculum implementation, integration of technology and effective culturally responsive practices. This position will primarily serve 6-12 Social Studies and 6-12 elective Teachers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: CoachingModel and encourage "best practices" in the classroom for new teachers to observe, discuss and reflect onPromote and support culturally responsive teaching practices and equity mindsetModel and encourage integration of technology into daily lessonsConduct coaching cycles with teachers to improve practice through modeling, co-teaching, questioning and reflection Curriculum Implementation CoachAssist teachers with the implementation of program and curriculum changesPlan and work with PLC teamsFacilitate unit and lesson designSupport and address technology integration as related to the implementation plan.Conduct coaching cycles with teachers to improve practice through modeling, co-teaching, questioning and reflectionAssist with district curriculum articulation meetings as needed District Professional Development Attend training and/or lead workshops throughout the year, including summer, aligned to District strategic direction and goalsDistrict Professional Development:Lead and assist in planning professional development programming at the district and building levelAssist and support the implementation of critical instructional practices and integration of technology to support learningAssist with the planning and delivery of District professional developmentAssist with the implementation of District strategic direction and goalsProgram Specific Professional Development:Collaborate with the Learning, Teaching and Equity Department to provide support & professional development for specific programsCollaborate with the Articulation Facilitator(s) regarding professional development supports for curriculum implementations Professional ExpertisePossess high quality instructional practices in all aspects of teaching and learning, including best practices in instruction, digital integration, and multicultural teaching practicesWillingness and flexibility to work during summer months to lead or participate in teacher training or curriculum writing according to the contractual compensation rateExcellent human relations skills including the ability to work effectively with othersStay up-to-date on emerging educational technologies in order to stay on the forefront of using technology for increasing student learningDemonstrate an understanding of "best practices" and the latest literature in the field around instruction, digital integration and equityCollaborate, learn and plan with teachersContribute to a positive and professional working environmentStrong work ethic, organizational skills and time managementFlexibility and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks, sometimes at the direction of more than one personPositive and professional presentation and communication skillsAbility to coach, mentor and motivate individual and/or groups of teachers towards continuous improvement of practice MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education:Must possess a current secondary (grades 6-12) MN teaching license6-12 Social Studies MN teaching license preferredMaster's degree or higher preferred Experience:Experience in coaching, professional development or teacher leadershipExperience with innovative technology integration practicesThree or more years teaching experience preferred Special Knowledge or Skills:Demonstrated understanding of technology-related best practices based on the latest digital learning literature and resourcesHigh quality instructional practices in all aspects of teaching and learningPositive and professional demeanor to assist in creating a positive and professional working environmentStrong work ethic, organizational and time managementStrong and professional communication skills, both written and verbalDesire and ability to lead and assist in planning and delivering high quality professional development Pay & Benefits Information (if eligibility requirements are met):Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceHSA & VEBA optionsFlexible Spending & Dependent Care optionsAccidental Injury & Critical Illness InsuranceLife InsuranceShort- & Long-term Disability InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Teachers Retirement Association (TRA) Plan + district contribution403(B) plan + district contribution Salary ranges from $52,020 to $126,971 depending upon education level and experience.
