Technical Project Manager

This role demands strong leadership, deep industry knowledge, and technical fluency to drive results in complex client environments. As part of our growing consulting practice, the TPM will serve as the linchpin between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors—ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality goals are met.Key Responsibilities:Program Leadership:Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of implementation or transformation programsDevelop detailed project charters, work breakdown structures, and execution plans aligned with client goals and transformation roadmapsManage cross-functional delivery teams including solution architects, developers, analysts, testers, and change managersApply structured methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) to manage timelines, risk, quality, and dependenciesTechnical Oversight & Integration:Oversee system configuration, integration, and deployment activities for platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, Maximo, Oracle, OverIT FSM, ESRi GIS or similarCoordinate with vendor teams to ensure smooth interface design, data migration, and cutover planningSupport solution validation through UAT oversight, defect triaging, and issue resolutionRisk & Issue ManagementProactively identify project risks, issues, and change requests; implement mitigation and escalation strategiesMaintain project health metrics and governance documentation (RAIDs logs, dependency trackers, change control)Financial & Resource ManagementManage budgets, forecasts, resource allocations, and vendor contracts in collaboration with internal operationsEnsure project profitability and compliance with client contractual obligations and timelinesContinuous Improvement & Quality AssurancePromote continuous improvement through lessons learned, feedback loops, and project retrospectivesEnsure adherence to QA/QC standards and compliance requirements (e.g., NERC, FERC, ISO, etc.) in regulated environmentsChange Management:Support change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage of required changes. Assess the impact of organizational changes and develop strategies to minimize resistance and maximize engagementFacilitate communication among stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of change initiatives and their benefitsTeam Building and Leadership:Mentor, and manage a team of consultants and specialists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvementDefine team roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations to ensure clarity and accountabilityProvide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and knowledge of FSM solutionsClient & Stakeholder Engagement:Serve as the primary point of contact for client executives and stakeholders across IT, business, and operationsConduct status reporting, steering committee presentations, and facilitate key decision-making sessionsTranslate business requirements into executable technical plans and ensure alignment between IT and business outcomesEducational Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s) is preferredRequired Skills and Experience:Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on the utilities and energy industriesProven track record of leading complex implementation projects, and integrating with existing technology stack (ERP, CRM, CIS, BI, Datawarehouse, etc.)Consulting background with experience in client-facing roles delivering high-impact programsStrong understanding of utility operations, asset management, and regulatory complianceDemonstrated experience in team building and leadership, with the ability to inspire and develop talentExcellent project management skills, including proficiency in project planning, execution, and risk managementExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage clients and stakeholders at all levelsAbility to delegate, prioritize and go above and beyond to drive sprint deliverables as needed. Technical proficiency in system integration, and data analyticsAbility to travel to client site (domestic and(or) international) as required and defined per project requirementsCertifications:Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or similar certificationsCertified SCRUM master (CSM) certification a plusSix-Sigma certifications a plus. Certified SCRUM product owner (CSPO) a plus. The salary range for this position is provided in good faith and is subject to variation based on geographic location, candidate experience, and market conditions.
